Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies? I know I do, and I know you do too. But as we get older, our bodies can’t handle too much of almost anything anymore. And one good example of it is chocolate. As much as we try to, we can’t always make things go our way. We might try making Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies to make eating chocolate chip cookies healthier, but we’d still need to cut it down a little bit. Saddening, isn’t it?

 

But what if I tell you that you can still enjoy the taste of Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies but with a healthier option? What if we can replace the chocolate chips with a healthier ingredient and still the cookies would be as awesome? You’ll gladly want to try that, don’t you?

 

 

TAHINI COOKIES

What you need:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup powdered sugar

1/3 cup tahini

1/4 cup room temperature unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons black sesame seeds

1/2 cup toasted pine nuts

2 tablespoons demerara sugar

Procedure:

    1. Prepare the oven by preheating it to 350°. In a food processor, pour the 1 cup all purpose flour, 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 1/4 cup unsalted butter, 1/3 cup tahini, 1/2 cup toasted pine nuts and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Pulse the ingredients until it forms a ball around the food processor’s blade.
    2. In a small bowl, pour demerara sugar and 2 tablespoons of black sesame seeds. Mix the two ingredients. Then, form your cookie dough into small balls. And then roll the dough balls unto your demerara sugar and sesame seeds mixture.
    3. Spread parchment on a baking sheet. Place the sesame covered dough balls, and flatten them. Place the baking sheet onto your oven, and bake for at least 25 minutes.

There you have it, a healthier option than Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies. It’s better for your body, and still taste as good as the ones with chocolate.
